Bocote is a hard, dense, tropical wood with quite beautiful, dramatic striping. The grain is from dark to light brown/gold, giving Bocote its distinctive look, used by wood turners/workers, fine furniture makers & cabinet makers. It is considered easy to work with and polishes very well. Bocote is a heavy/dense wood with a specific gravity ranging between 0.63 to 0.84. Bocote is indigenous to Central America, South America and, of course, Mexico (which is where Exotic Woods USA's Bocote comes from). |
